REPOST develops new options for a resource efficient, qualitatively high and economically feasible recycling of autoclaved aerated concrete from deconstruction and demolition of buildings in the production of building products. In project part 1, methods of deconstruction and processing of post-consumer aerated concrete are researched that lead to high-quality secundary raw material. In part 2, samples of dicalciumsilicat (C2S) with secondary raw material are produced with the developed resynergy approach (developed at KIT). Dicalciumsilicat (C2S) is an intermediate product of autoclaved areated concrete. Advantages of the new approach are a low energy consumption and a very homogeneous product. Carbon Capture is also possible at low cost. Project part 3 analyses if samples from part 1 and 2 are suitable to produce autoclaved areated concrete or sand-lime bricks. Eventually, production is tested in industrial scale. Project part 4 analyses the new recycling opions with respect to the system impacts in a comparing system analysis including different framework conditions and a life cycling assessment (LCA) with its technical, economic and ecological criteria.
